Computational Verb Systems: Verbs and Dynamic Systems

چکیده

Computational verb systems are new systematic frameworks of artificial intelligence by embedding the knowledge and experiences which are expressed or implied by verbs into machine intelligence. It turns out that verbs are very important to describe the dynamics of complexities for the survival of human beings. Verbs are also very important building blocks for transferring and representing human experiences. The applications of verbs to modeling complexity are discussed. The dynamics of linguistic expressions are viewed as the usage of verbs. Nonlinear and linear dynamic systems are used to model and classify verbs. Based on these models of verbs, the dynamic aspects of linguistic expressions, which associate with qualitative descriptions of human experiences, can be described quantitatively. In particular, verb models of both simple and complex dynamic systems are provided to show how to use computational verb systems. The problem of computing with verbs (verb computation) is also studied. The relationship and computation between verbs are modeled by relations between different dynamics. The classical “equality” is generalized to verb equality, which is synchronization or generalized synchronization between dynamic systems. Different schemes of synchronization between dynamic systems are presented to show how rich the verb equalities can be. To illustrate the application of verb computation, a simulation example of “understand music” is presented to show how emotions and intuitions can be transmitted through music by a process of computing with verbs. An application of verb computation to unmasking chaotic shift keying is presented. c ©2002 Yang’s Scientific Research Institute, LLC. All rights reserved. Architectures of Computational Verb Controllers: Towards a New Paradigm of Intelligent Control

There are at least two kinds of methods of designing (computational) verb proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controllers. The first one is to generalize fuzzy PID controllers by substituting “BE” in fuzzy control rules with non-static computational verbs. The second one is to directly construct evolving functions of verbs in human experiences of dynamic processes. These methods will lead to ...

Verb Numbers = Computational Verbs + Numbers

In this paper the concept of (computational) verb number and arithmetical operations of verb numbers are presented. A verb number is a kind of special computational verb, which is derived from structures of (host) verb+(real, interval, fuzzy) number. From the linguistic point of view, a verb number is a computational verb with contexts defined by (real, interval, fuzzy) numbers. Verb numbers ca...

Developing a Semantic Similarity Judgment Test for Persian Action Verbs and Non-action Nouns in Patients With Brain Injury and Determining its Content Validity

Objective: Brain trauma evidences suggest that the two grammatical categories of noun and verb are processed in different regions of the brain due to differences in the complexity of grammatical and semantic information processing. Studies have shown that the verbs belonging to different semantic categories lead to neural activity in different areas of the brain, and action verb processing is r...

Polarity Preference of Verbs: What Could Verbs Reveal about the Polarity of Their Objects?

The current endeavour focuses on the notion of positive versus negative polarity preference of verbs for their direct objects. This preference has to be distinguished from a verb’s own prior polarity for the same verb, these two properties might even be inverse. Polarity preferences of verbs are extracted on the basis of a large and dependencyparsed corpus by means of statistical measures. We o...
